Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising team members in food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen, and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff and coach them on delivering quality food on time.
- Collaborate with the GM in scheduling of kitchen team members with minimum overtime
- Conduct interviews, hire, train, and mentor new kitchen team members
- Conduct performance reviews and discipline staff when necessary
- Maintain adequate inventory levels and assist GM in monthly inventory count
- Ensure that all food items and products are properly stored, prepared, and served based on set recipes, preparation, and portion standards
- Hold team members accountable for their actions, work, attitude, and attendance
- Motivate employees to constantly move, clean, and work towards a higher standard
- Cross-train team members on all stations
- Ensure team members adhere to company standards for safe food handling and maintaining clean and orderly workstations
- Monitor employees’ breaks with an emphasis on labor costs
- Culinary education a plus
- Proven experience as a salaried Kitchen Manager
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment
- Conflict management abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Basic food safety understanding and practice
- Hardworking and dependable with a positive, upbeat attitude
- Food Manager Certification a plus and will be required within 60 days of hire
